Built On One Man's Vision.
Carried Forward By Shared Values.

Gasco was founded by Mr. S. H. Hadi Naqvi, a Commerce graduate who started with a very small amount of capital and, through sharp instinct and unshakeable resolve, built Gasco into a name to be reckoned with in Pakistan's Oil & Gas industry.

Where It Began, Indenting & Imports

GASCO’s story begins before it was a construction company at all. In 1990, GASCO started as a trading and indenting house serving Pakistan’s oil and gas sector, sourcing and importing equipment and materials for the industry. That work built the company’s earliest relationships across the sector and developed the technical product knowledge that would later inform its move into engineering and construction.

Earning Trust Locally, EPC Local Representation

By the mid-1990s, international EPC contractors were increasingly looking to execute projects inside Pakistan — but navigating local regulation, procurement, and site logistics required a partner who already knew the terrain. GASCO stepped into that role, providing on-ground coordination, regulatory navigation, and local execution support, and becoming the trusted local representative for international EPCC firms. The role gave GASCO direct exposure to how large-scale EPC projects are structured and managed, knowledge it would soon apply as a contractor in its own right.

2003

Breakthrough Solution, Rental Compression

2003 marked GASCO’s leap from representing other companies’ projects to creating technical solutions and value addition. Rental gas compression, backed by comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) support, was never a supply service, it was a solution. By boosting low-pressure wellhead gas back up to sales line pressure, compression kept wells flowing after reservoir pressure had fallen below the level needed to enter the transmission network, turning depleting assets into producing ones. For the operator that meant recovered reserves and restored revenue; for the country, incremental indigenous gas into the national energy mix. The step took GASCO from representative and trading work into hands on technical operations, and established a production-enhancing service line that still runs alongside the company’s EPCC project work today.

2008

Hands-On Capability, Mechanical Construction

Five years after entering operations, GASCO broadened into direct construction, taking on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls (MEIC) work across plant facilities, wellheads, and pipelines, alongside annual turnaround contracts. Turnarounds, the planned shutdown, inspection, and maintenance of a live process plant, are unforgiving work: schedules are tight, safety margins are thin, and every delay is expensive for the client. Executing them reliably, year after year, built the operational discipline and safety culture GASCO carried into every larger contract that followed.

2009

Building from the Ground Up, Civil & Earthworks

Civil and earthworks capability completed GASCO’s construction offering in 2009, closing an important gap in the portfolio: every plant, pipeline, and facility GASCO built still needed grading, sitework, and foundations underneath it. Bringing civil works in-house allowed GASCO to self perform a far larger share of any project’s scope rather than coordinating subcontractors across disciplines, a step that improved both schedule control and quality consistency on the larger contracts that followed.

2014

Owning the Full Scope, EPCC Contracts

2014 was a major inflection point. GASCO secured full Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning (EPCC) contracts across gas plants, compression stations, and booster stations. EPCC scope, as opposed to construction-only work, meant GASCO now owned the project from engineering design through procurement and on to commissioning and handover, a significant step up in both technical and commercial responsibility.

2016

Flagship Projects, National Infrastructure

In 2016, GASCO was entrusted with construction on a project of genuine national significance: a 42-inch diameter, 80-kilometer Regasified LNG (RLNG) pipeline. Pipelines of this scale feed imported, regasified LNG directly into Pakistan’s gas transmission network, helping meet the country’s growing energy demand. Being trusted with work of this size, physically and in national economic importance — placed GASCO among the select group of contractors capable of executing critical energy infrastructure, and marked a clear step up from the plant- and station-scale contracts that came before it.

2021

Beyond Building, Operate & Maintain

By 2021, GASCO’s relationship with its clients had evolved again, from building facilities to running them. That year the company was awarded a complete condensate handling facility on a Build-Operate-Maintain (BOM) basis. Under the BOM arrangement, GASCO’s responsibility did not end at commissioning in 2022; the company continued to operate and maintain the facility over the long term. Securing a contract of this kind reflected a deeper level of client trust — GASCO was being relied on not only to deliver critical infrastructure, but to sustain its performance for years afterwards.

2024

New Ground, Mining Construction Services

GASCO’s most recent milestone took the company outside oil and gas entirely. In 2024, GASCO took on construction services for the Reko Diq copper-gold project in Balochistan, one of the world’s largest known undeveloped copper- gold deposits. It marks GASCO’s formal entry into mining infrastructure, a deliberate diversification beyond the energy sector that has defined the company to date, and it builds directly on the pipeline experience that underpins GASCO’s interest in further Reko Diq packages.
